We hold the following beliefs:

We are created for freedom and loving relationships with God and other people. (Romans 8:35: "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?")

Everyone is prone to addiction, which can lead to crisis situations. (1 Corinthians 10:13: "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.")

God offers a life-changing relationship with him and freedom from paralyzing crises through Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection on our behalf. (Hebrews 4:15-16: "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.")

Grace is necessary for restoration. (Ephesians 2:8-9: "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.")

Everyone can experience grace and restoration. (2 Corinthians 5:17: "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.")

Surrender to God allows his grace to break the chains of addiction. (James 4:8a: "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you.")

Grace is best understood by experiencing unconditional acceptance in relationships. (Romans 15:7: "Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.")

Freedom from addiction is an ongoing process requiring conscious choices. (Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.")

Personal accountability is a key feature of a new life. (James 5:16: "Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.")

A new life requires being equipped with an array of new skills. (Hebrews 13:21: "May he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.")
