What did you like most about your experience? "How warm, kind, and accepting every single person on the EW team was. From the beginning I felt safe and welcomed and like I had a whole community cheering me on and encouraging me.”
Do you have any final thoughts or words of encouragement for others beginning their recovery journey? "Taking the first steps to attend a recovery program can be daunting. I know for me it was. All of the unknowns, the new environment, the new faces, and giving up what was familiar to you can seem overwhelming but on the other side of that, healing will take place if you let it. I entered into the Eagles Wings program at the lowest point in my life and I will be forever thankful that I did. The team at EW took me in and were there with me through every step of my journey, the ups and downs, celebrating my wins, and encouraging me on my hardest days. Always with an ear to listen, praying with me and for me, and truly getting to know me. I felt like I was truly accepted as I was. Eagles Wings was not a one size fits all program but one that was tailored to suit me and my personal goals for healing, one that I was at the center of and being guided through with spiritual support and a true sense of community. From the bottom of my heart thank you! To the Eagles Wings team for all the love and support you will always be a second family to me.”
“Each one of you brings a unique personality, perspective, spiritual formation, and community to a client and seem to work well as a team supporting each other. It’s not easy to take a “stranger” in and open your home and your heart to them.”
“A good balance of supporting client to move forward while giving space for her to heal. This may be unique to each client, and it can be hard to be patient or know when to push. Diversity within the team is helpful and making sure a team meeting is being held to check in with each other and client is needed.”
“Providing a safe space.”
“Leadership in developing healthy life habits, routines, spiritual disciplines, and general spirit-filled guidance.”
“A great team of wise people.”
“Openness to having family visits, encouraging job skills, and community service.”
“Each week someone started taking notes at our meetings, especially goals that were set, and would review them each week for accountability.”
