Dear Friends of Eagles Wings Ministries,
You are amazing, committed, faithful, generous and courageous!
You trust God and follow him in his God-sized project to release captives, open the eyes of the blind and free the oppressed. You take risks: supporting an emerging ministry with founders who don’t have all the answers but trust God to unfold and provide all things in His time as only he can. He provided you!
And you pray and give regular financial support. You pour concrete, plumb and pound nails. You cook for crews and sew beautiful quilts; you get work-dirty, sore muscles and short sleep. You expedite and ship and move materials. You paint and lay tile; saw lumber and climb around on roof tops. You bless us as we share sweet fellowship with laughter and tears and stories of God’s goodness and awe of his greatness.
How we thank you!
How we thank God for you!
Our one year residential program is designed to help women recover from drug and/or alcohol addiction in a caring and grace-filled environment. Women learn to live healthy lives grounded on a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We offer individualized recovery services to meet a woman’s unique needs regardless of her current life situation. A key feature of our services is that children are allowed to accompany their mothers so they, too, can benefit from the recovery process. This program is unique in Alaska and fills a desperate need.
How you can help now:
Please continue your faithful prayers and giving. Regular financial support is key to providing quality recovery services that are affordable and accessible to everyone. No one will be turned away due to inability to pay.
With the first residence all but completed, we’re prayerfully waiting for personnel:
The first Barnabas volunteers—this married couple is vital on the recovery team to disciple and mentor the first two women residents. Volunteers raise their own support allowing operating costs to be kept low. Work description is available on request.
A half-time executive director is needed to oversee day-to-day operation and “visioneer” the ministry. Job description is available on request
Board members meet quarterly and 2-3 are needed to fill vacant seats.
These are opportunities to serve with uncommon unity beside other dedicated Christ-followers. We invite you to come see first-hand what God has done, is doing and will do on his God-sized project in a small island community in SE Alaska. It’s quite the adventure to follow God into a God-sized project, isn’t it? But you and others can testify that it’s worth it.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
